Operators guide to the NSW OEH data pack

If the administration data such as clients, products and locations are configured correctly against the NSW OEH data pack, then normal ticketing operations should not be affected.

However, in some cases the operator may be required to select additional data (for example, to specify if the stream is C&I or C&D for a generic mixed commercial product).

If additional EPA data is required, the operator will be prompted for this

This article is a guide for operators on what effect the data pack may have on ticketing operations.

Waste Stream

Waste Stream

After selecting standard ticket information (product, client, locations), the operator may be prompted for the Waste Stream if not pre-configured against the product.

Waste Sub Stream

Waste Sub Stream

Then the operator will be prompted for the Waste Sub-Stream.

Note: Select Not Municipal if the waste stream isn’t municipal or domestic.

Material Composition

The above three items are the only pieces of information required unless you are using Weight Conversions in which case you should read the appropriate section below.

EPA Data

EPA Data

To view the EPA data against a ticket manually, select the “EPA” button in ticketing.

This will show the currently populated EPA data, and allow changes to be made if required.

Note: Any button with yellow text is mandatory and the system will prompt for this data if missing when a ticket is processed.

Deemed Weights

Deemed Weights

If your site does not have a weighbridge, you may be able to use weight conversion.

If this is allowed, in ticketing the operator will be prompted for the vehicle type if it is not already configured against the vehicle.

This will then calculate automatically the deemed weight of the load using the Weight Conversion table (and use this as the net weight if the product is sold by weight).

Tip: This process can be used as a fall back if a weigh bridge go out of commission for any reason.

Exemptions

Exemptions

If the load if for an exempt community service organisation, or approved emergency incidents, or approved onsite usage, the operator may be required to enter an exemption.

This will not be required if the exemptions are configured in administration as specified in section 4. However, there may be instances where an operator needs to enter an exemption manually, if for example a new customer arrives on site and is able to provide a community services deduction identification number for their organisation.

If this is required, click on the EPA button and select Exemption.

This will show the Exemption list. A transaction can technically have multiple exemptions (eg, community service, and emergency incidents). Click Add New to add the exemption.

The Exemption Add/Edit screen will be displayed.

Select the exemption you require:

If the exemption does not have a code supplied, you will be required to enter it.

The Exemption will then show on the EPA tab.
