How to setup a vehicle to use an Access Control gate

To allow vehicles to use an access control gate to enter a site or leave a site without a completed transaction, some permissions must be set against the registered vehicles. This article explains the two options for configuring a vehicle.

Vehicle Behaviors

Vehicle behaviours are used to manage the permission to come in and out of site, and whether they require a transaction recorded in order to do so.

Setting a vehicle behavior

In the Administration program locate the vehicle in the Vehicles tab.

Select the Manage Favorites button

Change to the Vehicle Behavior favorite type.

Double click the behavior you wish to apply. Allow Entry Without Transaction and Allow Exit Without Transaction will work with access control module.

Allow Entry Without Transaction - This will allow a vehicle to enter a site without starting a transaction. This can be used for vehicles with stored tares that are removing product from a site and do not need to enter over the weigh bridge.

Allow Exit Without Transaction - This will allow a vehicle to exit a site without a completed transaction. This can be used for vehicles that can leave the site site without a transaction.

Its possible for a vehicle to have both permissions which will allow a vehicle to enter and leave a site without going over a weighbridge.

If a vehicle has the exit permission but has an incomplete transaction when leaving then the exit permission will ignored and the vehicle will not be authorised to leave.

Use in Access Control Setting

The second method to allow access, is via the Use in Access Control setting in the vehicle's settings.  This method is best use for staff access to site as it allows both entry and exit.
