How to install a Dallas USB iButton reader
This article describes how to install the necessary software for using the Dallas iButton USB desk top reader. Follow the article for details on how the setup Mandalay CS to use the reader once installed.
IButton Reader
The IButton USB reader will look similar to the above picture and will have a USB connection at one end.
Plug in the scanner
Connect the scanner to the next available USB port.
The example above is taken from a J2 touch screen console.
Install 1-Wire driver
The driver for the 1-Wire devices is available once the Mandalay CS Hardware Layer has been installed.
The installer can be found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Mandalay Technologies\Hardware\Support directory once the hardware layer is installed.
There are 2 installers available install_1_wire_drivers_x64_v403.msi for x64 bit environment and install_1_wire_drivers_x86_v403.msi for 32 bit environments.
