Interim Release August 2018 (3.5)

This is the release notes for build 3.5.0.260, which is the official interim release of Mandalay CS for August 2018.

Features/Improvements

  • Park the last ticket for a pay later account.
  • Pay later account usage restrictions - Single Transaction , All Day or Open.
  • Parking completed ticket as unpaid.
  • Date Exported and Exported fields are now available in the Ticket Details view and can be used to report on transactions sent to financial systems through any integration services.
  • Improved performance of the WARRP Summary WBR system report.

Ticketing

  • New button Save Weight button available for saving the current scale weight against a parked ticket or when completing a final weight. This allows for transactions to be parked with all weights.
  • Save Weight will ask for driver details if parking a cash client and will create a temporary account. An existing account will be used if already linked to the vehicle.
  • For non weighed transactions the button will show Save Unpaid.
  • Tickets parked with all weights will appear on the vehicle list with a $ symbol indicating that money still needs to be processed for this transaction. Selecting this will show the parked ticket allows the payment to be completed.

It is possible to make changes to the ticket once selected.

The use of the Save Weight button for account customers should be used with caution as these tickets can still be picked up by a finance interface unless the interface has been configured to ignore these parked transactions. Please contact Mandalay if you would like to change you finance interface to work with these types of transactions.

Pay Later and Temporary Accounts

  • The last transaction recorded against a temporary account can be parked for easier closing of the temporary account. Normally a new transaction is required to pay out a temporary account. With this feature the operator just need to selected the parked ticket from the vehicle list (it will be the dark orange button with the $ symbol) and then re process the transaction.
  • There are now optional rules about the number of transactions that can be accumulated against a temporary account.

Single Ticket -  Only one ticket can be recorded for a temp account. This will mean the ticket that is unpaid must be completed before a new transaction can be recorded.

One Day - The temp account is only open for a day before the account needs to be closed to allow transactions on subsequent days.

Open - There are no restrictions on the number of transactions recorded against an account.

Each option can be independently activated.

  • Part payments can also be blocked. So it would not be possible to pay $10 in cash and then add the remainder to a temporary account.

Configuration Options

  • Park on Pay later - Note: Allow Alternate Vehicles can not be activate at the same time as Park on Pay Later
  • Save Weight and Save Unpaid parking of completed transaction can be activated here.
  • New temporary account restrictions can be set here. By default the system is set to Allow Partial payments and set to Open Pay Later.

It is recommended that the Park on Pay later be activated if using the Single Ticket option as it will not be possible to record another transaction for the vehicle until the account has been closed.

Issues Fixed

  • WBR logos uploaded are now shared across all servers that are hosting WBR in the naus platform.
  • Database optimisation to improve ticketing and WBR performance.
  • Improved handling of deadlocks within ticketing. This should resolve the issue of ticketing being produced with 1899 year on the docket and the situations where cash sales are not reporting correctly in WBR.
  • Manual boom gate controls will now maintain the state between boom gate control window sessions and will switch batch to auto control when closed.

This will be the last version of Mandalay CS that will be available for on premise and older Mandalay cloud customers (pre 2017) not yet on naus. Future versions of Mandalay CS will require customers to be hosted on the naus platform. Critical defects will be addressed as required.
