What are the default system security groups

Mandalay CS when deployed provides 4 user security groups by default :

  • Data Administrators
  • Operators
  • Power Operators
  • System Administrators

Users can be assigned to one or more of these security groups and will implicitly receive all options available in each group.

Data Administrators

This security group is designed for user that need to maintain the data in the Administration program. It does not provide access to the Ticketing program.

The permissions granted are:

  1. Administration module- Access to the Administration application.
  2. Alerts - Access to the Alerts tab
  3. Carriers - Access to the Carriers tab
  4. Cartage - Access to the Cartage tab
  5. Categories - Access to the Categories tab
  6. Clients - Access to the Clients tab
  7. Contacts - Access to the contacts tab
  8. Contracts - Access to the contracts tab
  9. Electronic ID' - Access to the Electronic ID's tab
  10. Events - Access to the Events tab
  11. Gates - Access to the Gates tab
  12. Grouping - Ability to distribute items to specific sites
  13. Invoicing - deprecated function that is no longer supported.
  14. Locations - Access to the Locations tab
  15. Payment Type - Access to the Payment Type tab
  16. Products -  Access to the Products tab
  17. Reporting - Access to the legacy reporting application and WBR
  18. Reports Administrations - Ability to create and manage custom reports in WBR
  19. Seasons - Access to the Seasons tab
  20. Sellers - Functionality not yet available.

 

 

Operators

This security group provides basic access to the Ticketing applications.

The permissions granted are:

  1. Ticketing - Access to the Ticketing application
  2. Ticketing Alert Create INFO/WARN - Create alerts of INFO and WARNING type.

 

Power Operators

This security group provides a more advanced access to the Ticketing applications and the Access Control module where available.

The permissions granted are:

  1. Access Control - Access to the Access Control module.
  2. Cancel Ticketing - Ability to cancel any ticket in the system
  3. Manual Ticket Site Select - No longer needed as site selection performed through other mechanisms.
  4. Stored Tare - Ability to manually re tare a vehicle from ticketing
  5. Ticketing - Access to the Ticketing application
  6. Ticketing Alert Create INFO/WARN - Create alerts of INFO and WARNING type.
  7. Ticketing Alert Create INFO/WARN/STOP - Create alerts of INFO, WARNING and STOP type.
  8. Ticketing Alert Update/Remove INFO/WARN - Update and remove alerts of INFO and WARNING type.
  9. Ticketing Alert Update/Remove INFO/WARN/STOP -  Update and remove alerts of INFO, WARNING and STOP type.

System Administrators

The security group is provided for users that require access to all areas of the system.

All permissions found in this article  What are the security permissions available in Mandalay CS will be available.

Some newly create permission types may not be automatically assigned to this group when they are made available so it may be necessary to review this group after each general release.
