How to configure a weighbridge for split weigh transactions

If the weighbridge used at a site is to small to capture the weight for a vehicle in one go then the Mandalay CS system can be configured to capture a split weight. This means the vehicle will enter the weighbridge and the system will capture the first weight. It will then prompt for the vehicle to move forward and capture the second part of the weight.

Activating this functionality requires changes to the configuration of the computer hosting the ticketing system and to the administration data for the vehicles that are longer than the bridge./

Weighbridge Length

Weighbridge Length

The first step is to tell Mandalay CS how long the bridge is. Do this by starting the Configuration Manager and going to the hardware tab.

Set the appropriate length value (in meters) of the weight bridge. If more than one bridge configured then both bridges need to be set.

Click Apply and restart ticketing if it is already running.

Once the weighbridge length has been determined the system needs to know how long the vehicles are. It will know this from the length setting of the vehicle configuration.

  1. Go to the Administration program and look at the Vehicle Configuration tab.
  2. Against each vehicle configuration set the length in meters for that configuration.
  3. Add the vehicle configuration to the vehicles where the length needs to be known.

When these vehicles are selected the system will check the configured length for the vehicle against the length of the bridge and if the vehicle length is greater than the bridge length then the system will automatically start a split weigh when a transaction is started or a vehicle s re-tared.

Once complete, the below is a guide on how to complete a transaction using split weigh.
