How to enter a TCN (Transport Certification Number) into a transaction
Some products delivered to a site may require a transportation certificate before the load can be accepted. The Ticketing program can capture this and in some cases this will be mandatory, depending on how the product has been setup.
In some situations it is necessary to provide multiple TCN numbers to cater for combined loads. It is possible to do this in Ticketing as long as the numbers are formatted correctly.
The following steps explain how to add a single and multiple TCN number to a transaction.
Start a transaction
Start a transaction for a vehicle
Select a product
Select a product that requires a TCN to be captured (usually Asbestos) and enter any other details required.
Go to the second page
The TCN is captured on the second page of the ticket so click on the section on the right hand side as above.
Open the EPA details
Click on the EPA button to see the TCN field.
Note: If the Print button is pressed before the TCN is entered and it is set as mandatory for the product then the system will automatically prompt for it.
Enter a single TCN
Enter the TCN number in the text box at the top making sure to follow these rules:
- No spaces
- Do not use quotes or any other special characters
Enter multiple TCNs
To enter more than one TCN you need to separate them by a comma and follow these rules:
- Follow the rules for the single TCN
- TCN is 11 characters or less
- No more than 21 TCNs can be entered
- There should never be a comma before the first TCN
- There should never be a comma after the last TCN
