Accessing CS Applications via the naus Platform

This guide provides an overview for troubleshooting user access issues for CS applications via the Platform.

Requirements

To follow this guide, you will need to be an administrator for your tenancy. We suggest that you have logged into Platform and have accessed a CS application successfully.

Naus Platform is supported on Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer 10 - 11, so you must be able to access at least one of these.

Windows 7 or above

We recommend that you understand how CS hosted and user management works in the Platform. If unsure, we have placed the links in relevant sections of this article.

Context

In order for a user who has been granted platform Mandalay CS permissions, to use that Mandalay CS app, there is an initial setup process which has to only be done once per user, per tenancy. After this is completed, the only changes required are business requirements to allow privileges inside CS Administration, for that user.

Login to naus

You can access the naus Platform at http://platform.naus.com To login, you will need to remember your naus username and password.

Main Page with Tiles

After logging in, you should see a main page that looks like the screenshot above.

The purpose of this page is that you can access all your subscribed products from the one website – instead of opening multiple browser windows and desktop applications.

Accessing Mandalay CS Applications

We have a dedicated article that steps through the process of accessing CS on each of our supported browsers. You can follow this here. We recommend you follow this guide if you have not accessed a CS application via the Platform yet.

One administrator for each tenancy is required to login to troubleshoot any issues for other users logging in.

Ensuring role access for new users

For any new users in your tenancy to access CS applications, they will need to have the relevant roles associated with their naus profile. If you have limited knowledge about user management, we recommend you reference this article.

To manage users, go to Admin > Manage Users

If inviting a new user, select 'Invite a User'. For the purpose of this demonstration I am inviting '[email protected]'

Select the relevant CS applications they need access to. This needs to be selected under the 'Mandalay CS' product family.

Ensure you hit 'Save' at the top of the page.

The invited user will now receive an email, where they need to complete their naus profile.

Once they have successfully signed up, they will need to login to their new account. This new user should see a CS application tile on their home page.

Ensuring role access for existing users

To manage users, go to Admin > Manage Users

Find the user and select Actions > Edit

Select the relevant CS applications they need access to. This needs to be selected under the 'Mandalay CS' product family.

Ensure you hit 'Save' at the top of the page.

The updated user will need to login to their naus account. They should see a new CS application tile on the main page.

Troubleshooting issues for initial CS application login

Once the new or existing user has logged in successfully, they will need to click on the tile to download the RDP file required to launch a CS application.

After opening the download RDP file, the user will be prompted to enter their password again.

Once successfully entering the password, a new screen will appear. Select the correct email address and re-enter in the password.

An invalid password error will appear. This is because the user does not have any permissions set up by default.

An administrator is required to log into CS administration via the Platform and adjust the permissions for the user attempting to gain access.

The new user is shown on the list - however they do not have any permissions.

Select the relevant System Group and click 'Edit Members' to add new user the group with predefined permissions.

The user should attempt to login again. They should now see everything they have permission granted for.

As per below, the user I created '[email protected]' can now login and view all sections they have been granted by their administrator.

This process may seem tedious, but it is important this is followed, so to ensure each individual accessing CS applications via the Platform can only see what they are granted.
