How to specify the payment type to use when refunding money
It is possible to specify how a transactions should be refunded. This could be that a credit card transaction can only be refunded as cash, or be forced to only be refunded the the credit card system.
This lesson explains how to configure a payment type to refund to a specific payment type, and show what the operator will now see when processing a refund.
After selecting the payment type, select the refund payment type from the drop down box.
Generally the refund type should be the same as the payment type selected. However in some cases you may want to refund against a different payment method.
If no refund payment type is selected then the system will assume Not Refunded is required for this payment type.
