How to configure Mandalay CS for prepaid accounts
Mandalay CS has the ability to setup a temporary account with a prepaid amount. This temporary account can then be used by a customer when they come to the site. In order to use this feature the system needs to be configured. The following article explains how to activate this feature.
Configuration Manager
Start the Configuration Manager program and go to the Company Details tab.
Payment Options
- Check Use Prepay to activate this feature. Note: This is a global setting and will affect any computer in the system.
- The minimum value you accept for prepaid accounts can be setup here.
- Allow Alternate Vehicles should be active if you want to allow vehicles other than the one registered for the prepaid account then you need to activate this setting.
Allow Cash Screen for Zero tickets
So that new pre paid accounts can be setup with out charging a customer the Use for Zero Cost tickets option on the General tab should be activated. If this is not ticked then there will need to be a transaction with an amount greater than 0.
Administration
Any clients that need to use this facility must be setup as cash clients. The generic cash account can also be used if necessary but if this is for charitable organisations then a separate account should be setup.
Clients
Check the Cash Client flag for any customers that need to use this facility.
Payment Type
A new payment type is needed to allow money to be added to an account for tickets with zero dollar.
- Set the name to something relevant like prepaid.
- Tick the Open Payment for Prepaid Allowed option to allow a value to be added to the account.
