This article outlines some solutions to common problems found when using enterprise manager.
Error when creating publication
Solution: Run the Finalise job on the central server host and then try again.
Access denied to snapshot directory
Solution: Set the permission for SQL Server Agent User to have full access
Distribution not configured
Solution: Configure the distribution on the SQL Server.
pRuning or creating subscriber snapshot fails with "regular snapshot has become obsolete"
Solution: The publisher snapshot needs to be rerun as it is out of date.
Do this by:
- Select the publishing host in Mandalay Enterprise Manager
- Click on the Run Default Snapshot job on the publisher
- Retry the dynamic snapshot jobs on the subscriber.
Other errors
If any other errors occur while attempting to run any job on a host do the following:
- Check the Mandalay CS Service log file by going to the installation directory for Mandalay and looking at the log folder (C:\Program Files\Mandalay Technologies\MandalayCS\Logs is the default)
- Locate the log file MandalayCS.Service.log
- Open the file and see if the issue can easily be identified in the log file.
- If the issue can still not be resolved then email the log file along with details and screen shots of the problem to [email protected] .
