How to configure the system to charge a cartage (transportation) rate
It may be a requirement based business processes that Mandalay CS be configured to allow a cartage rate to be charged per transactions.
The following steps explain how to the system can be configured to charge a cartage rate.
Refer to the Product Management Manual on how to setup the cartage fees.
Turning on Cartage Rate calculations
- Start the Configuration Manager program.
- Go to the first tab (General)
- Check the Calculate Cartage check box.
This will now mean that the ticket system will now allow a zone to be selected for a ticket which will subsequently apply a cartage rate to the transaction.
Prompt for Distance
The prompt for distance option is defaulted to enabled when cartage is turned on. This option will ask the operator to enter the distance of the cartage when ever a zone has been selected for a ticket.
If distance is not used in the cartage rates then this option can be disabled.
Zone Mandatory
If cartage needs to be enforced for each ticket then the Zone Mandatory option can be enabled which will then ensure that the Zone field in ticketing is always a required element of a transaction.
Ticketing
- Zone is yellow so is a mandatory element of a transaction
- The distance has been prompted for
- This Zone is set as a flat rate so it is automatically applied to the transaction in the cartage field.
