How do I categorise my client records

To allow client records to be easily organised a category can be applied to the record. This can be used to help with the following:

  • Reporting on groups of clients.
  • Separation of financial exports.
  • Assist in client management

Create a Client Category

To create a client category the Categories tab in Administration is used. Once this tab has been opened you should:

  1. Press the Add button to create a new record.
  2. Make sure the Type is Client
  3. Enter a name of the category
  4. Enter a code and notes (optional)
  5. Press Apply

You can set the Type in the Advanced Search section to Client to make it easier to create new categories.

Apply Category to Client

Once you have created a category you can then add it to a client. To do this you will need to locate your client in the client tab and then set the Client Category field to the required category.

If your new category does not appear in the drop down list then your will need to refresh your client list by pressing the Search button at the top of the list.
