How to collect weights on a Non-Weighed stock unit
In some situations it may be necessary to charge for a product based on a non-weighed price (e.g charging on cubic meters) but still capture the incoming and outgoing weight. The following steps explain how to achieve this using the Weight Allocation Factor on the product setup in the Administration module.
Create/Modify a Product
Create a new product using the Add button or modify existing product by selecting from the list. Ensure the selection of a non-weighed stock unit.
Non-Weighed Weight Management
To force a weight to be captured for a load enter a Weight Allocation Factor of '1'. This will tell the system to capture a first and second weight. A stored tare will also be used if available.
Weight Allocation Factor in Ticketing
When this product is used in ticketing the load summary will show that the weight is being captured and the quantity is also required.
Note: This will only work if the product is selected through the main product button. It will not work if selected through the More Products button.
Reporting
The net weight captured will be stored against the transaction item and will override any nominal weight applied to product. The standard Nett Weight Tonnes fiels will report the weigh captured, however the quantity will reflect the quantity entered by the operator.
